Britains's ministry of finance has suggested that the financial conduct authority should monitor advert on cryptocurrency provided by firms that are not authorized.

To advertise a financial product through promotions, it is mandatory for financial firms not supervised by FCA to get consent from authorized companies even though this method might not effectively shield the internet from possible fraudsters.

The treasury's latest project will need authorized financial firms to get consent from the FCA before advertising with firms that are not regulated. This would allow the financial watchdog of Britain to have more impact on firms that are not authorized.

The economic secretary to the treasury, John Glen, analyzed why people need to comprehend the financial product they see on adverts. Investors can lose a lot of money if ads by unauthorized companies are deceptive or if the involved risks are not fully outlined.

Crypto promotions are not regulated in the UK

Presently in Britain, cryptocurrencies adverts are not regulated. Nonetheless, the speed at which adverts relating to cryptocurrency is increasing is quite alarming. The treasury is disturbed that these adverts are directed at retailers(investors), and the information provided are usually misleading. The government advised that every advert should be straightforward regarding any possible risks.

The treasury also stated that its objective is to assist in the transformation of the financial sector and ensure the safety of investors.
