The Honda and GM have launched a global model for the use of distributed ledger technologies to build autonomous electric car powering networks.
Due to batteries' price, storing surplus solar and wind-generated energy is a big issue for the renewable energy sector. However, electric motors have enough space to save energy making it more popular and more important in the renewable energy sector. It can be plugged into Decentralized grids to save energy.

Major Updates:
- The initial design released by the working group aims to lay the basis for effective use of excess green energy.
- The standard would provide benefits to companies involved in electric vehicles and the charging Ecosystem at large.
- The EVGI team was set up five months ago, consisting of GM, Honda, and some other tech firms.
Green energy is rapidly developing as a significant frontier for blockchain technologies, with the Ripple and Energy Platform Foundation unveiling last week's Energy Platform Zero protocol to decarbonize distributed ledger networks. The EVGI standard is chain agnostics, which aims to ensure that "the appropriate data properties and features of each use scenario are accessible for companies to use in the development of their own applications."
