Over the last few days, Elon Musk has been addressing the necessity for a new social platform on Twitter. He has suddenly grown harder in his criticism of Twitter and its regulations, alleging that the social network is hurting democracy by refusing to implement freedom of speech ideals.

"Am giving serious attention to this," Musk said in response to a query on if he would explore creating a new social platform with an open-source technology that prioritizes unfettered expression and minimizes misinformation.
The debate started when Musk asked his Twitter followers to vote on if they felt Twitter conforms to the ideal of free expression, something he claimed is "fundamental to a true democracy."
He stated that the survey result was essential and encouraged his followers to vote carefully. The survey received almost 2 million votes in less than 24 hours, with 70.4 percent voting no.

Mandela's arrest warrant was sold as NFT
Non-fungible tokens are still being utilized for charitable purposes, with the most recent instance coming from South Africa. For over $130,000, a digitized compilation of Nelson Mandela's actual arrest warrant from almost half a century ago was auctioned to establish a cultural project.
Nelson Mandela was a political party member (African National Congress – ANC) before being South Africa's first black president. He rose through the ranks of the ANC to become the head of Johannesburg's youth division and eventually deputy national president.

The purpose of the organization was to combat white dominance and racial discrimination. After the killing of black protestors in 1960, Nelson co-founded a paramilitary arm of the ANC to participate in a guerrilla war.
He was initially jailed in 1961 for treason before being freed, and then again in 1962 for fleeing the country without a license and encouraging employees to strike. He was imprisoned for over 30 years until he was freed on February 11, 1990.

In March 2022, his reputation is still alive and well in digital form. According to Bloomberg, his actual arrest warrant was auctioned as a non-fungible token for 1.9 million rands ($130,000) in an exhibition to help finance a cultural monument that depicts the nation's democratic battles.
The revenues will go to the Liliesleaf Museum Heritage Site, which has also housed the actual document since 2004. The sale was held on Momint, an NFT marketplace, and the proceeds would be used to assist "historical sites stay viable," according to its CEO.
