Chilean government permits shipping companies an effort to create to integrate blockchain technology.
Chile has permitted nine freight shipping firms to work together and create a blockchain platform. The joint platform will be called Global Shipping Business Network (GSBN). The project has been tendered to the rival agency of few countries, including the US and South Korea, but they are yet to receive feedback.

Major Updates:
- GSBN’s objective is to oversee cargo shipping matters and services, including clearing goods and issuing papers.
- The services will be extended to other firms in the industry and will not be restricted to those that took part in its development.
- The total amount to be spent on the project was not revealed.
- Some vital information will not be sent via the GSBN platform.
A group of renowned individuals in the freight industry also gave their advice to the firms involved in the project. In Holland, the Rotterdam port recently announced a blockchain project in partnership with a few reputable firms to improve its services.
