Bitcoin just might be taking over yet another platform. This time, Twitter seems to be showing interest in the famous Cryptocurrency.
Just recently, Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, purchased 1.5 billion USD worth of Bitcoin, and since then, Bitcoin prices have soared. Now, Twitter isn’t left behind as they are also looking to add Bitcoin to their balance sheets.
The news was first publicized by the CEO of Twitter, Ned Segal. He had said that Twitter was going to add BTC to its balance sheet and may even begin to pay workers in the digital currency.
On CNBC, Segal had said:
“We’ve done a lot of the upfront thinking to consider how we might pay employees should they ask to be paid in Bitcoin, how we might pay a vendor if they asked to be paid in BTC and whether we need to have BTC on our balance sheet.”
The momentum at which Bitcoin is going global is almost unreal!!!
At first, we had Cash App, PayPal, and Square join in on Crypto; then onto several traveling agencies; Binance Pay was also established, and recently, Tesla as well joined in on the crypto way of money. With all these combined, I am sure that in the near future, the user volume of Bitcoin is going to be so massive that it will soon become a globally accepted currency. Another likeliness I feel is that it may even completely debunk Fiat currencies. This will span not just across high-profile or large-scale businesses and investors but also amongst retailers.
This would cause a frenzy in both local and corporate markets. It would highly benefit the companies associated with crypto. Tesla, for example, had an increase in share value by around 1.5%. This is terrific news for the company. In turn, Bitcoin also rose to about 48,000 USD. Although the price proceeded to fall downwards, it still managed to stay above the 44,000 USD resistant mark. That is still very much impressive if you ask me.
At this point, I think that more companies should invest in Bitcoin. Any doubts raised before should be abolished. The ‘Elon Musk’ himself had invested 1.5 billion USD worth into bitcoin. This goes to show that he not only accepts the currency but fully trusts it as well, so much so that he will put it on his balance sheets.
