A partnership between Meta Platforms and IT giant Microsoft has made it possible to showcase several Microsoft Office 365 products in virtual reality on the Meta platform. This advancement will raise businesses' interest in experimenting with working in a virtualized world.
Microsoft's CEO, Satya Nadella, said that the Teams video app, Meta's Quest, and the recently released Quest Pro VR headset will work together to enable users to congregate in a virtual area resembling a boardroom. This was said at the keynote Meta Connect 2022, which took place on October 11.
The VR experience offered by Meta will also include common Microsoft Office tools including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SharePoint. Nadella said that a Windows Cloud computer may be streamed to Meta's headsets in the future.
According to Nadella, Meta's Quest and Quest Pro headsets will be interoperable with Microsoft's business smartphone and identity management programs, enabling businesses to control and safeguard VR headsets on their enterprise networks just as they would PCs or cellphones.
Meta is hoping that the addition of extra functions to its QuestPro headset, which has undergone several modifications, would draw more people into a digital workplace. The company has commended the new gear, saying that it has advanced over its previous headgear in terms of convenience for users, performability, and also an improvement in visibility with greater resolution.
Additionally, the Quest Pro is supposed to provide a "more straightforward" response on its handheld consoles and "authentic emotion monitoring," where the person's virtual character imitates real-life counterparts' facial gestures like grins and winks.
Nadella referred to the current flexible workplace regulations that were first put in place as a result of COVID-19 limitations when he remarked that the epidemic has created a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity in formerly office-based professional environments.

According to Nadella, the Microsoft Team realistic meeting concept will be added to Meta Quest to provide people with a completely new way to communicate with one another. Users may now connect, exchange, and cooperate, creating the impression that they are physically present together, Nadella stated. Furthermore, Microsoft Teams will integrate with Horizon Workrooms, Meta's virtual reality meeting environment. The cross-device interface, according to Zuckerberg, will become the cornerstone of the digital future work environment.
Since 2021, when the company changed its name from the familiar Facebook to Meta, it has moved its attention and resources toward creating what Mark has referred to as the Open and Interoperable Metaverse.
The firm's exploration and development division, Reality Labs, has already spent $5.7 billion in 2022 just on developing the necessary technology and virtual communities. In a July Q2 financial report, Mark was unwavering about the "major potential" notwithstanding the expenses, even admitting that they may persist for several years.
