A Big Japanese Financial Institution, wants to Create an Exchange for Security Tokens

Security tokens used to be a big deal back in 2018 and early 2019 before it started to fade and eventually got replaced by the hype of IEOs (Initial Exchange Offerings) and then by DeFi (decentralized finance).

However, security tokens are still appealing, especially because stocks and the traditional real estate market are not going anywhere. If people adopt cryptocurrency transactions to represent those asset classes, security tokens would still be able to make a comeback.

Tokai Tokyo Financial Holdings, a big Japanese financial institution, is planning to create an exchange platform for security tokens. Not only that, but Tokai Tokyo is also an investor in Huobi Japan (the Japanese branch of the popular crypto exchange, Huobi).

Tokai Tokyo is partnering with Hash Dash Holdings to create these security tokens and to provide a trading platform on users’ smartphones. The first goal from this exchange is to issue tokenized real estate and trade it on iSTOX, a digital security exchange based in Singapore.

In the future, Tokai Tokyo wants to connect both platforms from Japan and Singapore together to create a seamless digital security exchange ecosystem.
