Cryptos are getting attention in India

Following weeks of significant financial events, Indian Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Governor of India's central bank Shaktikanta Das assured the press that the two government organizations are in perfect agreement on the crypto issue.

Sitharaman recommended a fixed 30% tax on all crypto-related earnings in her budget session for 2022-23 on February 1. She additionally revealed that central bank digital currency (CBDC) would be introduced in the next fiscal year, commencing in April 2022.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated on February 3 that the Indian CBDC might help enhance the virtual economy.

Both the Indian Finance Minister and the central bank's chief stated that internal meetings about the CBDC and crypto are occurring and conscious of each other's concerns upon such topics.

"I believe there is total synchronization at which RBI and Ministry are operating, not just on virtual currency but on everything else also, recognizing each other's jurisdiction and understanding what we have to do with each other's objectives and in the national benefit." "There will be no turfing here," Sitharaman declared after discussing with the RBI's governing board.

Anonymous individual posing as a Spanish securities regulator

The Spanish securities regulator (CNMV) has issued a warning regarding a series of imposters requesting information in the group's name. As per the alert, an unidentified entity is contacting and requesting information from Spanish residents via phone calls posing as a fraudulent offer to sell bitcoin. The sold bitcoin was allegedly taken from a corporation prosecuted by Spanish courts. The scammers also state that they call from the group's fictitious anti-fraud section.

In its notice, the CNMV notes that it has previously disclosed this abnormality to the law enforcement agencies to discover the relevant entities and stop these activities. It reads:

The CNMV took different procedures as soon as it became informed, like notifying the State Security Forces and Corps.

Rodrigo Buenaventura, president of the Spanish regulator, said the entities involved in these fraud activities would face legal action.
