FISCO BCOS, which is a China-based blockchain organization that is not for profits, stated that medical information based on blockchain has allowed the Chinese to commence mainland tour to Macau successfully.
It takes about two minutes to get a medical code at the initial trial and about three seconds for subsequent medical confirmation when touring via customs. The medical code program was launched due to the COVID-19 outbreak, making the region discontinue tours from the Chinese Mainland earlier this year.

Major Updates:
- As of May, the health information protocol supported by Macau's blockchain has identified health codes of China's mainland medical system
- The development will allow those touring from China's Mainland to confirm their medical state using the DLT-supported program.
- Presently, over 17 million touring individuals have passed customs between Macau & the Chinese Mainland with the DLT-supported program.
The DLT-supported program was designed by an indigenous firm Accredify and an investment company owned by Singapore's government, SGInnovate.
As of last month, it was released that the program has been used to confirm COVID-19 discharge data over a million times.
