Ready Player One gave us the misconception that the Metaverse is VR — Everyrealm CEO, KBW 2022

The CEO of Everyrealm, Janine Yorio, while addressing a crowd in Seoul on August 9 as part of Korean Blockchain Week 2022, has refuted the myth that the Metaverse can only be made available "exclusively in VR."

Yorio further expressed that Ready Player One by Steven Spielberg has given us a look into what life may be like if we were residing in the metaverse; even though most innovations in the metaverse are currently created for people's PC, the movie imprints people with this misconception about the metaverse because the protagonist is using a VR headset.

The Everyrealm government said that the metaverse's usage of virtual reality (VR) is conflicting with how people typically use technology, which is either multitasking or used to procrastinate because when you're using VR, you have to detach from life altogether.

Yorio further predicted that the Metaverse's next "12 to 36 months" will be its most exciting period, saying that this will be when many of the triple-A gaming studios truly begin building and delivering the kind of metaverse that people are anticipating.

She added that people could expect mass adoption or, in other words, the moment they've all been waiting for after this significant change in growth happens. Yorio also discussed Everyrealm's future business endeavors throughout the conference, focusing on style as "one of the personal fundamental driving forces of commerce.”

Janine Yorio expressed that building music events in the metaverse is not a priority for Everyrealm because the concept isn't flattering. She added that the reason people attend live performances is to experience the "bass" sensation in their feet and being with friends and indeed dance, which is an impossibility at concerts. Still, because of the pandemic, people are now a little more tolerant of what a show may look like.

She highlighted some points in this growing part of virtual technology and its relationship with people. What do you think about them? Do you agree or not? Please share your thoughts with us in the comment section.
